The Saros Z70 is the first robot we tested that can pick up a sock and put it on a mat. It is also the first robot we tested that made guests ask if we were okay. The arm is real. It is also not why you should spend $1,600.
Cleaning first
On sealed tile and mid-pile rugs the Z70 is excellent. Dual spinning mops lift dried coffee better than last year’s S8 MaxV, and the extendable side mop finally gets inside the stove kick. Carpet boost is aggressive without flinging grit. This is a top-tier cleaner that does not need a gimmick.
About that arm
OmniGrip will move lightweight clutter it recognizes: socks, crumpled paper, small sandals. It will not clear a Lego massacre or a charging cable nest. When it works, you feel the future. When it stares at a hoodie for 40 seconds, you feel the firmware. We treat it as a bonus, not a feature we paid for.
If Roborock sold this chassis without the arm for $900, it would be a slam dunk. The arm is priced like it already works.
The verdict
Buy the Z70 if you want the current mopping ceiling and enjoy being the person with the robot arm. Everyone else should read our best robot vacuums guide and leave $700 in the account.
